Job Summary The Assistant Director will directly conduct planning, development, implementation, and supervision of comprehensive drug therapy management programs for Geisinger in the areas of hematology and oncology. This will include the provision of pharmaceutical care, clinical program development, staff development, and data analysis to assess the outcomes associated with such programs. Additionally, will oversee the management of day-to-day operations of Hematology/Oncology pharmacy areas and provide Clinical Pharmacist services as required. Job Duties Assumes responsibility for appropriate medication therapy management related to the treatment of hematology and oncology patients served by Geisinger. Verifies provider-entered orders in EPIC and BEACON and ensures appropriate doses are dispensed that meet the standards needed for hazardous drugs if applicable, concentration, and other administration parameters. Provides operational oversight and accountability with the Regional Directors of Pharmacy, Assistant Directors, Director of Sterile Products and Quality Assurance and Clinical Coordinators for the various Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy areas, including human resources and budgeting. Accountable for maintaining standards, clinical activities, operational activities and performance measurement tools that meet clinical, operational and market needs in the areas of clinical efficiency, operational efficiency, quality and patient satisfaction. Emphasizes, supports and develops the pharmacist provider as an integral part of the health care team. Responsible for the oversight through the pharmacy management team regarding the accountability for establishing, monitoring, communicating to staff and achieving and continuously improving system performance parameters. Motivates, energizes, directs and supports the staff in the provision of pharmaceutical care. Implements standards, measures performance and acts to promote a customer service-oriented culture. Actively participates and takes a leadership role in Geisinger Residency Programs. Assists pharmacy management with responsibilities for the financial performance of all assigned areas. Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures. Position Details BCOP preferred, with experience in inpatient hematology. This position is an excellent opportunity to be part of the system hematology/oncology pharmacy leadership team with oversight of Inpatient and Outpatient Hematology/Oncology programs. Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
Pharmacy, Healthcare ManagementEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
